The present church (listed grade II) was built in 1876 to replace a mediaeval chapel, and is a typical late Victorian brick-built village church. The reredos is from the former Holy Trinity Church Gateshead and was installed in 1969. Worship is largely traditional in nature. Refreshments are served after the 9:00am Sunday and 10.00am Wednesday BCP eucharists.
